Best Lesbian Love Stories 2007: Summer Flings

by Lyndsey Darcangelo

First, let me apologize for my lateness. I was a bit slow moving this morning. The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker last night and I stayed up only to watch them blow it in the end. (What do we have to do to win a game?!)

I woke up this a.m. feeling a little under the weather. For some reason, I haven’t been sleeping well lately so I decided to stay in bed and refresh a bit. I don’t want to make it worse or get myself sicker. Holy tangent. Now that you know all of that I can get to the real meat of this post!

The truth is that I have some exciting news for all of you …

The anthology, Best Lesbian Love Stories 2007: Summer Flings, published by Alyson Books is available in stores!

Alyson Books publishes these anthologies yearly, and each year there is a different theme. I am proud to announce, and some of you may already be aware of this, that one of my own short stories is included in this anthology. The story is called, The Sight of Her and can be described as follows:

The unexpected encounters that often happen in our lives are always memorable for one reason or another, especially if that encounter results in a coupling of some kind. Charlie Myers is a bright-eyed English teacher looking to make some extra money for the summer as a tutor. In answering a random ad in the paper, she finds much more than a meaningless summer job. She finds love in an unlikely companion as well as a newfound  appreciation for classic feminist authors.

If I sparked your interest, get to a bookstore! The anthology includes many more stories like mine.

Everyone loves to fall in love, and there’s no better time than summer. From languid, lazy days to hot, humid nights, this year’s edition of lesbian love stories explores the passionate connection between women and women, and the sultry sun that sizzles their skin.

Buy the book.

I will be receiving an extra copy of this anthology and plan to give it away as a contest prize. Stay tuned over the next couple of days for the contest announcement. The winner will receive the anthology, autographed by yours truly!
