Drop it like it’s hot
“Snooooooop.”
You have to hand it to the Doggy Dog, he knows how to make a club banger. And this little pearl of wisdom could be applied to other aspects of life, not just in the club.
When I say “drop it like it’s hot,” I’m obviously talking about that lump sticking out behind you. When Rep. Barney Frank says it, he’s talking about the Presidential race for 2008.
Gay Congressman: Trailing Democrat Should Drop Out
(Washington) Rep. Barney Frank said the trailing Democratic presidential candidate should drop out of the race by no later than June 3 - the date of the two last Democratic primaries - even if it is the candidate he supports, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“Probably sooner,” the Massachusetts congressman added in an interview Tuesday with The Associated Press. He suggested that the trailing candidate should drop out once it became clear that candidate had no remaining practical chance of winning the nomination.
South Dakota and Montana vote on that day. Sen. Barack Obama currently leads Clinton in both pledged delegates and in the popular vote. But neither can mathematically win a majority by that date and the final outcome will depend on superdelegates.
As a member of Congress, Frank is one of the nearly 800 elected officials and party leaders who are superdelegates to the Democratic National Convention. ~ 365gay.com
I agree with Barney here. If neither candidate drops it like it’s hot and forfeits his or her position, we may have a serious problem on our hands. If it goes down to the wire, and history has proven this, with no clear cut leading candidate for the Democrats, the Republicans will have a much easier time winning the election.
We need a change in this country, now more than ever. And I don’t believe that change will occur unless we shake things up in Washington. McCain, as much as I respect him, is not going to shake things up. He’ll go on about party politics as usual.
I don’t identify with any party. What I do identify with is a candidate who’s ready to get in there and get his or her hands dirty. I think that both Clinton and Obama are ready to do just that. (I prefer Obama, but Hillary will do).
In order to gain full support from those individuals like me who don’t just identify with a party, the Dems need to put someone ahead of the pack and say “This is who we are behind. Let’s support them and get them elected as a catalyst of change.”
All of this indecision will remain just that — indecision. And when the election rolls around, those same people who couldn’t get behind one candidate or the other may end up voting for McCain instead, or not even voting at all.
No more bickering. No more me against you. Let’s get behind one clear candidate and see this thing all the way through to November.
Either drop out or watch the election go up in smoke.
