Hottest women in horror
Since it’s Halloween, I decided to post something fun for today. I’m not that into horror flicks myself because I don’t like the feeling of being scared. Who wants to walk out of a movie theater feeling an extreme amount of anxiety, peering around every corner, and jumping at every little noise. Not me. I’d rather see a feel-good flick that makes me feel as though I’m flying high after the move ends, a feeling that I can ride throughout the rest of the day. I’d take that over a scary move any day.
But, in honor of Halloween and because After Ellen beat me to it, I thought I’d do a run down of who I think are the hottest women in horror - gay or straight. So here they are, my favorite “scream queens,” in no particular order.
My first pick, and probably my favorite scary movie trilogy because it was more comedic than scary, more suspenseful than gory, and more outlandish than feasible was the Scream series.
Who can forget how hot Neve Campbell was, back in her innocent Party of Five days, when she burst onto the movie scene in the unforgettable role of Sidney Prescott? Not only did she have great one-liners, she was the sexiest target of a psycho killer that I’ve ever seen.
How could I possibly
fail to mention the original “scream queen” from the Halloween series. Though I was never a fan of the plot or the fact that Micheal Myers kept coming back from the dead despite being “killed”, maimed, shot, set on fire, you name it, there are two things I think about every time Halloween is mentioned. That damn two-piano key theme song, and Jaime Lee Curtis’ classic scream. She had quite a nice set of lungs … and, uh, she was pretty hot too.
The fact that Clarice in Silence of the Lambs was brave enough to even speak to a guy
who said, “he’d eat your liver with a side of farva beans,” is kick ass. Jodie Foster was cast perfectly in this role because she exudes the perfect mix of sexuality and strength. I personally love the part where she busts up in the house at the end by herself, without waiting for back up. All I know is that the saying, “Put the lotion in the basket!” gave me chills for weeks!
Ok … so, the movie pretty much sucked. I mean really, who thought that the idea of a Leprechaun
terrorizing a town would make a fantastic horror flick? Are Leprechauns known for their psychotic tendencies? Are they really that obsessed with gold that they’d kill for it? Apparently, yes. Though I’m not a fan of the movie, and didn’t even watch it all the way through, I distinctly remember Jennifer Aniston’s role as Tory (though she may want to forget it). Even before Friends, she was a hottie.
Much like the Witches of Eastwick, the young ladies who made up the Wiccan clan in The Craft were into casting spells in order to get what they wanted. I’ve already talked about Neve, but Robin Tunney was also in this flick as the shy and incredibly gifted Sarah. She could make a pencil stand on end simply by thinking it. Oh, and the love spell she cast on an unsuspecting jock was classic. In the end, her witchmates turn to the darkside and Sarah is forced to fight them all off by playing the “good witch,” who was in witchcraft for all the right reasons and not personal gain. She vows to cast spells only when needed. Still, I wouldn’t mind if she cast a few on me.
She may go a little “cuckoo” in the
Devil’s Advocate, but Charlize Theron is hot enough to make the temperature in hell rise 2000 degrees. I would have preferred that she had been the one who got rid of Al Pachino, otherwise known as the devil, in the end but alas, she was only cast in a supporting role. It’s amazing to watch her transition throughout the film - from a southern belle to a psychiatrist’s worst nightmare. Sigh. Even as an apparent lunatic she’s stunning.
I could go on, but there’s only so much time in my day. So feel free to add your own picks if you feel that I’ve left anyone out. I’m always open to suggestions when it comes to mentioning hot women.
Happy Halloween everyone!
Don’t forget about the Lez Keep it Real Contest!

I like your article. Very fun and well-written.
You should have read the ORIGINAL article before AfterEllen chopped it up. That Stacie Ponder is a riot.
